WORLDS NOVEMBER 2005: This competition will be in Rome, Italy. Congratulations to Sarah-Jane Jones, on her selection to represent NZ

 

CENTRAL AREA COMPETITION: Saturday/Sunday 15/16 October at Napier. Please note that entry forms are on the notice board with the closing date being Saturday, 3rd September, 3:00 pm at the rink Entry fee is $32.00 for 1 event, $37 for 2 or more events. Entry fee must be paid, by closing date. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED

 

SQUAD WITH DAVID HOOK: World-class coach, David Hook will be having a Freeskating squad on Sunday 11th September, at the rink. Will be for Beginners through to International skaters. Please read notice board for details or contact Chris Hazelwood or Bruce

 

SATURDAY ROSTER: The roster for September/October/November is out. Please read and take note when you have been rostered on. Remember, if you can’t do the day you are rostered on it is up to you to arrange for another member to take your place.

 

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: September/October school holidays are not that far away We will be having our regular holiday sessions, Monday – Friday, 1:00 – 3:30 pm for both weeks, plus some Private bookings in the mornings. If you have a preference on day helping or you can’t help at all please contact Debs, 5262261, for Debs is preparing the roster

 

RINK BOOKINGS:. During the 3rd term Maidstone Intermediate will be in from about 1:20 - 2:30 pm every Wednesday and Home School every 2nd Thursday from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. See Chris Hazelwood or Bruce for more details about assisting at these. Feel free to come along to see what is involved

 

DANCE YOUR SOCKS OFF: The Club has been asked to help out at this event on the evening of Saturday 10th September at the Kilbirnie Recreation Centre by way of supplying roller skates and getting some of our skaters to do demonstrations. Chris Hazelwood will be helping to organise skaters to assist. This has been a great way to help advertise our Club so please help This evening is a public session so if you wish just to have a skate around you are most welcome to come along. Time from 7:00 pm - midnight

 

SKATE MAINTAINENCE: Saturday 3rd September, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Reserve this day to come along and help with repairs to our club skates/blades. If you can’t make this day whenever you are at the rink see if you can do any repairs

 

SKATES WANTED: We have members wishing to buy, mainly freeskating skates, from size 1 – 6. If you have any skates for sale please contact Chris or Bruce with details

 

REMINDER: When you are first at the rink give the floor a sweep. List on notice board to record each time this is done. Please use lights only when necessary and ensure all lights, including the outside light, are OFF when locking building up. We have to watch the power bill with electricity rising.

 

REMINDER: Please, when you move or change phone numbers please contact Debs McCarthy 5262261, Club Secretary, or Chris Hazelwood, 5297551, Club Captain, ASAP so the Club’s records can be kept up to date. Thanks
