SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: Yes, they are not far away. We will be having our Public Sessions, Monday to Friday of both weeks, 1.00 – 3.30 pm. PLEASE put your name down to assist at least one of these. List is on the Notice Board.

REMINDER: CSD Solo Dance skaters, if you haven’t already, get your CSD music certified ASAP

Certifications must be clearly labelled as follows:

¨      Skaters name

¨      Name of the selected piece of music

¨      Person who played the piece of music or the album it is from

¨      Type of music chosen i.e. Tango

¨      Name and signature of the person certifying the music

¨      Their qualifications – such as Ballroom dancing teacher or their musical qualifications etc.

From next year the Artistic Committee intends to have a central person to whom all music will be sent for certification

RAFFLE: towards our skaters’ costs for Worlds. Books are now available and each family will be asked to take at least one book to sell at your work place, other clubs you belong to or even friends and neighbours. The prizes, all donated, are great - $2 is a fair priced ticket so they shouldn't be hard to sell

THANKS: To all who went and to those skaters who put on demonstration at the “Dance your socks off” show organised by the Wellington City Council. It was great publicity for the Club. Was great to see the 2 supporters from Napier, “Goddess of the Artistic Committee” Margaret Grant and Bill Hancock. Hope they enjoyed the evening.

MARATHON RESULTS: Congratulations to Nick Thom 1st Senior Men’s (42km), Sam Wright 3rd Junior Men’s (42km), Daniel Picard 1st Under 15 Boys (21km)

ARTISTIC COACHES: Please note requirements as from Artistic Committee

COACH ACCREDITATIONS FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2004

Three levels, of coach accreditation are being, set up by the Coaching Committee.

Level 0 – club level coach up to Area Championship level

Level 1 – pre requisite Level 1 CNZ  - coach to National level

Level 2 – pre requisite Level 2 CNZ – coach to International level

Written exams are set up or being set up for these levels.

Coaches can apply this year for credit transfer appropriate to the level they are coaching to for each discipline from Level 1 upwards. The credit transfer will be applied when the coach can provide the appropriate pre requisite certificate.

Entry to the marshalling area and onto the floor for 2004 National Champs will be restricted to coaches who have:

The Coaches committee will soon be putting out application forms for credit transfers. Credit transfers

will have to be applied for by 31 December 2003.  After that time they will be required to sit the

appropriate exams to gain their accreditation. If any coach has not been receiving the coaches’ newsletter
