SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: Yes, they were a great success. THANKS to all who helped out. I’m sure they agree that their effort was worthwhile.

 

LABOUR DAY: Monday 27th October. We are having a disco this day 1.00 – 3.30 pm. Money raised this day will go towards the Club’s expenses for Nationals, e.g. National Bars, Uniform, etc. Come along with your friends. Any assistance will be appreciated.

 

FIRST AID COURSE: The Club has arranged for this 8-hour course to be in 2, 4-hour time slots on Saturdays of the 13th and 20th December, being held at the rink, 9.00 am – 1.00 pm. There is NO COST involved. The class is limited to 15. If you wish to be included please ring Chris Hazelwood 5297551 ASAP to reserve your place.

 THANKS: To all who sold the raffle and supported it. Our World skaters appreciate the time and effort put in by all to ensure the success of the raffle.

 

WORLDS: Our Club members and all of our supporters wish Nick Thom and Sarah-Jane Jones all the best at their respectively World Championships. Have a safe journey and we look forward to your return.

 

NATIONALS: The Team Manager for Nationals 2004 will be Fiona Patrick. Assisting Fiona will be Chris Hazelwood and Chris Picard. In December Fiona will be contacting all of the National skaters for their Nelson contact details, etc

 

HELPERS REQUIRED: Various school groups have booked the rink during school hours therefore help at these sessions would be appreciated. Dates so far are Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th, Tuesday 25th, Friday 26th, November, and Tuesday 9th December. Please contact Chris Hazelwood or Bruce Crosby for details of times and what is required at these sessions.

 

XMAS PARADE: Upper Hutt Santa parade is on Saturday 6th December. Wanted, anyone with a trailer or small truck please contact, Bruce. When nearer to the time more information will be available.

 

COMPETITIONS UPCOMING 2003

·        29 November - Central League Competition, Palmerston North. (It was going to be in Wanganui.)

·        6/7 December – Speed King Tour, Upper Hutt

·        14 December- Upper Hutt Club Championships

 

COMPETITION ENTRIES:

Speed King Tour entry forms are on the notice board or else contact Chris Picard or Erin Chamley

 

Central League should be out shortly so watch the board. This is a great competition for our beginner skaters. If interested, see Chris Hazelwood for more details in regards to routines, extra practice time etc.

 

Club Champs entry form will be posted mid November, closing 30th November. All skaters are expected to enter this competition. There is NO entry cost. See Chris Hazelwood for more details in regards to leotards, etc. Routines for this event will start for our Patch Class skaters on 18th November. For our skaters in Patch there will be extra practice time on Saturdays from the 22nd November, 2.00 – 3.00 pm at no cost to help learn your routine.
