NATIONAL'S: Some very important things to note for the skaters going to Nationals:

  1. Fiona Patrick (artistic) and Chris Picard (speed) have raised their hands to be the Team Managers, for the National Championships 2004.

  1. All skaters must provide contact details of dates when they are in Nelson, where they are staying, and contact phone numbers (land/mobile). This is in case the organisers decide that event time’s change etc. Please provide the details to Fiona or Chris P. by the Club champs

  1. Artistic skaters must get a copy of their music labelled with Federation number, Artistic number, Club, Name and Grade to Fiona by the Club Champs. Please ensure you have your own copy and take to Nelson as a back up.

  1. Creative Solo Dance skaters MUST have their CSD music certified by a qualified music teacher and give the letter to Fiona by Club Champs. Skaters must organise this themselves but if anyone requires any further information they should speak to their coach.

  1. Once the National programme is known Fiona or Chris P will contact you about the team meeting in Nelson so skaters can be given their National Bars, passes, information, etc. Please remember your National Bars from previous years you have attended Nationals for they can be worn at the opening ceremony.

RINK CLOSURE: The rink will be closed for floor maintenance from 3rd January 2004 till 25th January 2003. In this time we will be having the floor repainted where necessary so there is to be NO SKATING on the main rink during this time period at all. We will also be repainting the figure circles off the main rink hopefully soon after Nationals so these will not be able to be used for a couple of days. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

BIRTHDAY CUP: Birthday cup award for the skater of the year. Nominations forms and rules will be place on board by 1st Dec. They must be returned to Chris P, sealed in an envelope, addressed “Birthday Cup”, by 31st January 2004, 3.00 pm. Presentation of the cup will take place mid-February 2004 in recognition of the formation of the Club in February 1982.

PATCH CLASS: Last Patch Class for 2003 will be Tuesday 16th December. This will be a fun night. Bring a plate for a light supper at the end.  Soft drinks will be provided. PATCH CLASS for 2004 will start on Tuesday 3rd February, 5.30 pm.
