Congratulations Sarah-Jane for your selection to represent New Zealand at the Junior World Roller Skating Championships in Argentina in November. Sarah-Jane qualified for Figures and Freeskating.

COMPETITION: Central Areas entries are on the board. Entries CLOSE with the Club on Wednesday 3rd September at 7.30 pm. Entry cost: $30.00 for 1 event, $35.00 for 2 or more events. There is NO DOOR CHARGE. Entry payment must be paid before closing date. Skaters must have their own Artistic/Speed number if doing these events.

 

MEETING: Sunday 7th September at 11.00am, at the rink. We have received a request from the Hockey Club in regards to times to start from 2004 and we wish to keep our members informed of their wishes and changes that may occur because of this. If you cannot make the meeting, please write any requests and hand to Chris Hazelwood or Bruce Crosby before this date. I will post the present and requested times by the RIHC on the Notice Board by Sunday 24th August.

 

SKATE MAINTENANCE: Gary Hazelwood will give a talk and demonstration for those interested in skate maintenance on Tuesday 26th August, at the rink, starting about 5.30 pm. This will be of interest to those parents who have skaters in our Patch Class to learn how to clean bearings, etc.

 

NOTE FROM THE TREASURER: As you know I have the job as Treasurer for the Club and would like to remind you that RINK FEES will be billed quarterly in June, September, December and March. Fees are Learners Fee $36.00, Part Fee $60.00 and Full Fee $105.00. Please pay fully by due date. Arrangements can be made to do Automatic Payment/Internet Banking to suit your budget. If you will be altering your fees for the next quarter please let me know ASAP so the alteration can be done before the start of the next quarter. MEMBERSHIP fees are now overdue and any not paid must be paid now. COMPETITIONS FEES must be paid by the Club’s closing date and time. Any entries not accompanied by payment WILL NOT, be entered. Skaters, if you put your name down for a competition tell the person who will be paying so they know about the payment due. If you have any queries with the above please contact me. RAFFLE: towards our skaters’ costs for Worlds. Books should be available in the next couple of weeks and each family will be given at least one book to sell at your work place, other clubs you belong to or even friends and neighbours. The prizes, all donated, are great - $2 is a fair priced ticket so they shouldn't be hard to sell
